Top Memory Stitch
You can use a top memory stitch with all types of drapery styles that have v-droop fullness between the pleats that are functioning, also known as full working.
The purpose of a Top Memory Stitch is to help maintain the V-Droop effect while the drapery is being pulled closed. Without Top Memory Stitch the drapery will require a lot of redressing the drapery every time you open or close the drapery. This is when a top memory stitch comes in handy!
Many soft top styles are not suitable for use as full working draperies because the fullness in the panel is not maintained when these draperies are drawn closed. Therefore, the appearance will change dramatically.
This is when a top memory stitch can be added to the top to help keep the spaces in place when the drapery is being hand drawn to its closed position. This is known as a top memory stitch. Depending on the style of drapery, the memory stitching will not be seen.
Most of the time you will see V-droop panels on non-stationary side panels. However, there are times when you want to use the design on a full working drapery.
