Stacking Formula
The stacking area on fabric shades is from the top of the head rail to the bottom of the shade when it is in its raised position. Keep in mind this will increase if request a banding/Flat Trim (pre-trim) along hem when raised. They will vary according to shade style, fabric, lifting mechanism, and lining used. The following formulas are based on a shroud tape.
Roman shades
Length of shade (in inches) × .225 = estimated stack area
Example: 53″ finished length. × .225 = 11.925″, which rounds up to 12″
Balloons
Length of shade (in inches) × .345 = estimated stack area
Example: 53” finished length. × .345 = 18.25”
