Drapery Valances
This section lists only the most popular styles. We can manufacture many styles. Download our Drapery Valances Quick Reference for other ideas and styles.
General Information:
- Valance will be hung from some sort of rod, hooks, or other supplemental hardware attachment
- Top heading will be constructed with buckram or soft top
- Specify LINED, UNLINED, SELF-LINED or INTERLINED, if a lining is not specified, we will use our stock poly-cotton sateen
- Valances can be made railroaded, if the design and fabric width allows, request CUSTOM quote for yardage allowances
- Blackout lining or interlining is recommended on most valances to prevent shadowing, sur-charges apply
- Hook/Pin settings for drapery valances are the same as for draperies
- On multi-length shaped valances, label the short, middle, and long points
- Order valances as panels
Features:
- Unlined or Lined straight bottom valances have a 2-inch double turned bottom hem
- Unlined shaped bottom valances will have a shirt tail bottom hem
- Unlined side hems are 1-1/2” double- turned, and blind stitched
- Lined side hems are pillow cased, or have a 1-1/2-inch double turned hem depending on the valance style
- Pleated tops have 4” heavy duty nonwoven buckram
- Seams and corners will be weighted when appropriate
- Color matched thread
- Seams are either hidden in pleats or balanced on each side depending on treatment

Pricing:
- Priced per width, based on 48”-54” fabric
- Charged by FULL WIDTHS only
- Railroaded fabrics and fabrics wider than 48”-54” will need to be converted into billable widths to find the labor cost
- To convert to billable widths, divide the flat fabric width by 54, round up
- Valances longer than 32” need to be ordered as drapery panels
- Banding, trims, ruffles, and similar items added to rod pocket valances are ADD-ONS and billed separately from the per-width base charge
