Treatment Styles

Bed Skirts:
A quality custom bed skirt will always have a platform, usually made from lining; that covers the box spring or bed base. Around the outside edges of the deck there will be a border, usually about 4 inches wide, made from the same fabric as the skirt. This border will prevent the platform fabric from showing should the skirt slip or shift slightly while on the bed. This border is sometimes called “deck banding”. Duvets
The basic duvet cover is a rectangular removable sack made from decorative fabrics into which the duvet is inserted. The duvet cover protects the duvet from wear, soiling, and makes it into an attractive and functional part of the bedding treatment. The closures on duvet covers can vary from zippers to snaps or buttons. Duvet covers are made to be seen from both sides as they are frequently laid on the bed folded. To keep the duvet insert from moving or shifting inside of the duvet cover, snaps or interior ties are placed inside the cover to fasten it to the insert.
Decorative Throws
Often made to incorporate fabrics in the same manner as headboards, except they can be tossed on the bed, or over a chair or bench to give the room a subtle touch of comfort. They are generally not fussy as the intention of the throw is to be subtle, but they can have trims added or even be made from a novelty fabric, such as faux fur if such a statement is called for. A decorative throw is also an item which can be used in other rooms such as living rooms or family rooms
